Before becoming a Horticulturalist I trained as a Fine Artist and Sculptor at Falmouth College of Arts. I see gardens as an art installation with nature as its medium.
I then studied Horticulture and Garden Design at Lackham College, Wiltshire, whilst simultaneously working as an apprentice gardener alongside experienced gardeners at an estate outside Bath. This gave me hands on experience on a wide variety of aspects of gardening, from running a kitchen garden, to creating and maintaining herbaceous borders, sowing a native wild flower meadow, pruning fruit orchards, woodland management and propagatinging plants.
My aim with my work in gardens is to enhance the dreamy, romantic essence that plants can create when put together well and nurtured.
